Mission

Truong Atlanta is an independent Vietnamese-language news outlet providing timely and accurate reporting for Vietnamese Americans across the United States. Founded and operated by freelance journalist Truong Nguyen in Suwanee, Georgia, Truong Atlanta was born from the recognition that the Vietnamese-American community faces a severe shortage of reliable Vietnamese-language news about issues that directly affect their lives in the U.S.

Our core mission is to bridge the information gap between mainstream American media and the Vietnamese-American community. We are committed to helping our readers access important news about the United States, Vietnam, and the world in their native language — honestly, objectively, and accessibly. From federal policy affecting immigrant life, to local news in Georgia and states with large Vietnamese populations, to international developments impacting the diaspora, Truong Atlanta strives to be the trusted source the community can rely on every day.

Accuracy and Verification

Accuracy is the foundation of responsible journalism. At Truong Atlanta, all information published must pass a rigorous verification process before reaching readers.

We apply OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) methodology to gather and verify information from multiple public sources. This is a method widely used in modern investigative journalism, enabling cross-referencing and validation of data from multiple independent angles.

Our verification principles include:

Editorial Independence

Truong Atlanta was founded and is operated entirely independently by Truong Nguyen. It is a private news outlet, not affiliated with any media conglomerate, political party, government organization, or interest group. Editorial decisions — from choosing topics and angles to published content — rest entirely with the editorial team, free from any outside pressure.

We are committed to:

News vs. Opinion

One of the most important principles of ethical journalism is a clear distinction between news and opinion. At Truong Atlanta, we rigorously apply this principle to all published content.

Truong Atlanta readers have the right to know whether they are reading objective news or personal opinion, and we are committed to maintaining this distinction consistently.

Sources and Attribution

Transparency about sources is a key element enabling readers to independently assess the credibility of information. At Truong Atlanta, we follow these principles on sources and attribution:
