On March 18, 2026, a teacher in Washington State was arrested after admitting to having a relationship with a 16-year-old student—behavior that occurred right on the school campus and lasted for an extended period.

Suspect Madeline Gregory, 29, was arrested near Sprague High School. Court records show that both parties confirmed the relationship.

The case was uncovered when the boy's mother checked his phone and found several unusual messages, reminiscent of previous cases of online teen manipulation, including content where the teacher begged not to be left when the student wanted to end it.

Security cameras recorded Gregory frequently staying at school after hours with the student. The two repeatedly entered private classrooms for long periods. Investigative documents confirm the violations occurred there and in other areas right inside the school.

The relationship began in September 2025 after the student became an assistant in Gregory's physical education class. The two met not only at school but also outside, including private car trips.

According to testimony, Gregory shared her marital problems and spoke about the possibility of divorce. When the student wanted to break up, she allegedly threatened self-harm.

Gregory currently faces charges related to sexual misconduct with a minor and inappropriate communication. The court set bail at $50,000 and prohibited contact with children to prevent the risk of child abuse pending trial.

The school confirmed it is cooperating with the investigation and handling the matter with extreme seriousness.

The case highlights a severe breakdown of professional boundaries in an educational environment—a place meant to protect students from unnecessary student-related scandals.
