16-Year-Old Fatally Shot in Brooklyn Public Housing

A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot on the evening of March 23 at a public housing complex in Brooklyn, New York. Police are investigating and have not released the victim's identity.
New York — March 24, 2026 (New York time) — A 16-year-old teenager has died following a shooting inside a Brooklyn public housing complex, according to information from the NYPD.
Police received a report around 6:00 PM on the evening of March 23 at a building within the public housing NYCHA system on Avenue X, in the area between Nostrand Avenue and Batchelder Street in Sheepshead Bay.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found a young man unconscious with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead following recent violent attacks in the city.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
