REDLANDS, California — May 6, 2026

A 3.3 magnitude earthquake shook the Redlands area east of Los Angeles on Wednesday morning.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter was located near the east Riverside area at a depth of approximately 6.2 km. The quake occurred at around 9:45 AM.

Many residents reported feeling tremors in Redlands, Moreno Valley, and even as far as Azusa in Los Angeles County.

A Redlands resident shared on Facebook that her office chair shook when the earthquake hit.

“When an earthquake is nearby, it feels like a truck hitting the house,” she wrote.

Another resident in Riverside said the quake was quite strong and caught many people by surprise.

However, some residents felt the vibrations were not very significant.

According to the Southern California Earthquake Center, the Redlands area frequently experiences minor earthquakes. This is currently the strongest earthquake recorded in the area this month.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries related to the incident.
