Over 3 Pounds of Fentanyl Seized in Gwinnett County, Two Arrested in Federal Raid

Federal and local law enforcement in Gwinnett County seized approximately 1,450 grams of fentanyl, equivalent to more than 3 pounds, in a recent search. Two suspects were arrested in this joint operation, marking a significant effort in drug control in the area.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office stated the raid took place last week with close coordination between the Sheriff's Investigative Services Unit, the Gwinnett Metro Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). In addition to the fentanyl, authorities discovered a firearm in the same room as the drugs, indicating the danger involved in the case.

Two suspects are currently held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond. They face several serious charges, including trafficking in morphine, opium, or heroin (28 grams or more) under Georgia state law, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and DUI child endangerment.
