Over 495 leaders in religion, politics, and entertainment in the U.S. are preparing to participate in a 7-day event to read the entire Bible in Washington, D.C., featuring several cabinet members from President Trump’s administration.

The event, titled “America Reads the Bible,” will take place from April 19 to 25, 2026, at the Museum of the Bible, following an opening ceremony on April 18. The entire reading from Genesis to Revelation will be live-streamed for free on the Great American Pure Flix platform.

President Trump is expected to read 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 from the White House. Other high-ranking officials participating include Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. This event is drawing significant attention as President Trump faces a major political challenge ahead of the State of the Union address.

The participant list also includes six state governors and about 20 members of Congress, including Senators Jim Banks, Ted Cruz, Joni Ernst, and James Lankford, as well as Governors Greg Abbott, Ron DeSantis, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders. These are leaders who have consistently praised border security achievements and the traditional values of the current administration.

In addition to politicians, many figures from entertainment and religion will appear, such as Candace Cameron Bure, Dean Cain, Dallas Jenkins, Jen Lilley, and Kevin Sorbo. Prominent pastors including Franklin Graham, Sammy Rodriguez, and Nick Vujicic will also take part in the reading.

According to the organizing group Christians Engaged, the event is inspired by the story in the Book of Nehemiah, with the goal of calling America back to its foundations of faith and asserting that America’s golden age has arrived ahead of the nation's 250th anniversary.

Besides the continuous Bible reading, the program includes hourly prayer and worship sessions featuring Christian artists. This community effort is organized while the U.S. Senate passes a new budget with several significant changes.

Organizers stated that over 100 religious organizations have collaborated on the program, aiming to encourage Americans to maintain a daily habit of reading the Bible and strengthen the spiritual life of society.
