CINCINNATI – At least nine people were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning at a music venue in Cincinnati. Police said the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.
The incident occurred just before 1:00 AM at 4343 Kellogg Avenue, the location of Riverfront Live, a music venue for ages 16 and older in the East End. According to social media information, the venue was hosting a birthday party that began at 10:00 PM on Saturday.
Police have not yet released a suspect description or confirmed whether the shooting was directly related to the party. Authorities emphasized that this was an isolated incident and there is currently no threat to the community.
Victims' families speak out
One parent reported that her 35-year-old son was hit by multiple bullets but is expected to survive. Another parent said her 25-year-old daughter was attending the party with friends when she heard gunshots and fled the scene in a panic.
The families expressed concerns regarding security measures at the venue, suggesting that the screening process at the entrance was inadequate.
Witnesses recount the event
One witness stated that about 10–15 minutes before the gunfire broke out, he saw an altercation inside the club. Afterward, three individuals appeared from the back and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Police have not confirmed if the altercation was directly linked to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
