Governor Greg Abbott announced increased patrols at energy facilities and seaports in Texas due to concerns over potential retaliation from Iran.

According to the statement, additional security forces have been deployed to oil refineries, oil and gas infrastructure, and key seaport systems. Patrols along the southern border have also been intensified.

Accompanying information stated that 1,504 Iranian citizens have crossed the border into the U.S. during the Biden administration. This figure has not been confirmed by federal agencies in the latest statement.

Texas officials said the security measures are precautionary in the context of escalating tensions in the Middle East. The federal government has not yet issued an official response to Texas's deployment of additional forces.

The domestic security situation is being closely monitored.
