ATLANTA – Four people escaped unharmed after a shooting occurred on the night of March 19 at Atlantic Station, when a gunman opened fire directly as the group was leaving a business. No injuries were reported, though several bullets caused damage to the building and a nearby establishment. Atlanta police received reports of gunfire at approximately 9:30 p.m. at 1380 Atlantic Drive NW. Upon arriving at the scene, officers met with four victims, all of whom stated they were targeted while stepping out of a business in the Atlantic Station area. Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect is a man who fired shots at the group before quickly fleeing the area. Witnesses described the getaway vehicle as a dark-colored Mercedes. Although no one was hit, the bullets caused damage to the building where the incident occurred and an adjacent business. At the scene, investigators recovered a total of nine shell casings, similar to many other shooting incidents that frequently disrupt public safety. Police have also obtained surveillance footage capturing the entire incident. Investigators are currently analyzing the images to determine the motive behind the shooting. The suspect remains at large.
