The New York Police Department (NYPD) is actively searching for a woman who carried out a brazen theft at the jewelry store Aqua Jewels by Monica in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn. The suspect posed as a customer and made off with jewelry totaling nearly $94,000 USD in broad daylight. The incident unfolded quickly, leaving store employees no time to react.

The incident occurred around 1 PM on February 8th at the business located on East 4th Street, near the intersection with Avenue P. According to preliminary investigations, the suspect entered the store during opening hours and approached the display case. She grabbed a large handful of bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, then quickly fled the scene.

Police stated that the woman fled southbound on East 4th Street in a black minivan. Fortunately, there were no reports of weapon threats or injuries to employees during the theft. Currently, the suspect remains at large and has not been apprehended.

Suspect Description and Search Efforts

According to the NYPD description, the suspect was last seen wearing a black dress, a black jacket, and a black hat. Surveillance camera footage shows the woman sitting inside the store with her hands near her chest. Authorities are actively reviewing security videos in the area to determine the suspect's escape route.
