The Incident Occurred During a Follow-up Visit at a Fresno Clinic

The Medical Board of California revoked Victor Lynn Perry's medical license after concluding he sexually assaulted a patient during an examination.

According to a decision announced this week by the Medical Board of California, the incident took place in September 2021 at a clinic in Fresno. The female patient was there for a follow-up after neck surgery and mentioned experiencing sciatica pain.

Patient Left Clinic and Left Note for Receptionist

Disciplinary records state that during the examination, the doctor touched sensitive areas on the patient's front body and continued to manipulate down to the groin and inner thigh. The patient reported that he did not use gloves during the act. When the patient reacted, she left the clinic and gave a note to the receptionist stating she had been assaulted.

License Permanently Revoked, Nearly $66,000 in Investigation Costs Ordered

The Board determined that the conduct constituted a severe violation of professional standards. In addition to the license revocation, Perry was ordered to pay $65,926 for investigation and disciplinary costs.

Under California law, a physician found to have engaged in sexual misconduct is ineligible to reapply for a license once it has been revoked. The decision is effective immediately, meaning Perry no longer has the right to practice medicine in the state.

The incident has sparked further debate regarding oversight mechanisms and patient protection within healthcare settings.
