The Florida Federation of College Republicans has decided to dissolve its chapter at the University of Florida after an internal investigation uncovered multiple rule violations, including an action deemed antisemitic.

An announcement from the University of Florida stated that the federation requested the university revoke the chapter's student organization status while it undergoes reorganization with new leadership.

According to a post on the university’s X account, the federation's investigation revealed “a pattern of conduct that violates the rules and values of the organization, including a recent antisemitic gesture.”

The federation requested the university “deactivate” the current chapter to prepare for the organization’s future re-establishment with a new leadership structure.

The University of Florida stated it is committed to preventing and addressing discrimination, harassment, and antisemitism, and stands ready to assist the federation in reactivating the chapter once it is reorganized.

Representatives of the Florida Federation of College Republicans have not yet issued an official comment following the announcement.

The incident at the University of Florida comes amid recent reports of discriminatory remarks within a conservative student group in Florida.

On March 5, Florida International University stated that law enforcement is investigating reports from the Miami Herald regarding a leaked WhatsApp group chat containing racist, antisemitic, and homophobic messages between local Republican figures and local conservative student leaders.
