Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) issued a ground stop at approximately 8:32 AM (Texas time), causing many flights to divert to other airports. The cause was identified as an equipment issue, combined with low cloud ceilings and weather conditions affecting one of the runways. The suspension primarily affects departing flights. A traffic management program is currently being implemented to alleviate congestion. Departing flights are experiencing average delays of about 30 minutes, which are expected to increase due to poor weather and high traffic volume. Additional ground delay programs are expected throughout the day to manage traffic.
