A FedEx delivery driver has been arrested after authorities recovered approximately $62,000 worth of stolen goods from a storage unit in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The individual's employment has since been terminated.
According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, on February 13, property crimes investigators received information about a reported theft from February 11 involving a FedEx package that was not delivered to its recipient.
Suspect Identified and Storage Unit Searched
The investigation identified Tyran Jackson, 27, as the delivery driver involved in the incident.
Investigators discovered that the stolen package was being held in a storage unit located at 10500 Perkins Road. They subsequently obtained a search warrant for the unit.
Upon executing the warrant, law enforcement recovered approximately $62,000 worth of stolen FedEx merchandise.
After completing the search and inventory, Jackson was located and arrested. The suspect was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
FedEx Response
In a statement sent to FOX Television Stations, FedEx stated:
"The safety and security of our customers' shipments are our top priority. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation, and this individual is no longer providing services on behalf of FedEx."
