A man in the Florida Keys faces second-degree murder charges after his wife was found naked, severely bloodied, and badly injured inside their home in Caudjoe Key on May 29.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the suspect, Bradly Shadduck, 56, was arrested after authorities found Lynne Alane Shadduck, 62, unconscious in the hallway of the house with multiple injuries to her face, hands, and head.
Officials stated that the incident was discovered shortly before 6 AM when Bradly — wrapped in a towel — ran to a neighbor's house asking them to call 911 because “there was blood everywhere.”
“Call 911, the whole house is full of blood,” the suspect reportedly told his neighbor, according to investigation records cited by Local10.
Police described the scene inside the house as “extremely chaotic” with blood appearing in various areas. The arrest report noted numerous broken items along with bloodstains and streaks of blood across the floor, including a large pool of blood in the middle of the living room.
During questioning, Bradly Shadduck told police that the previous evening, he and his wife had eaten and consumed a lot of alcohol at a local restaurant. He claimed the chaotic scene was the result of “rough sex.”
According to the investigation report, the suspect further stated that whenever he drinks, he often blacks out and “doesn't remember what happened.”
Ms. Lynne was taken to a hospital in Stock Island, still breathing but unconscious, before being pronounced dead later.
A search of the scene revealed blood “throughout the entire house,” including on towels, in the master bedroom, and the bathroom. Investigators concluded that a “violent struggle” had occurred before the victim's death. Meanwhile, the suspect had almost no significant injuries.
According to an online obituary, Lynne Alane Shadduck was a devoted nurse, mother to three daughters, had two additional stepchildren, and nine grandchildren.
The suspect is currently held at the Monroe County Key West jail without bond. The arraignment is scheduled for next week.
