Flynn Pleads Not Guilty, States "I Am Not a Danger"
OHIO — Caleb Flynn, a former contestant on the television show American Idol, has made his first court appearance after being indicted for the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn, at their home in Ohio.
During Friday's hearing at the Miami County Municipal Court, Flynn attended virtually and told the judge, "I am not a danger." According to TMZ, he expressed a desire to "take care of my daughters."
Flynn's defense attorney entered a not-guilty plea on his client's behalf and requested the court schedule a preliminary hearing for later this month.
Accused of Shooting Wife While Two Daughters Slept
Flynn was arrested on February 19 after authorities accused him of fatally shooting his wife at their Ohio home. The incident occurred while the couple's two young daughters were sleeping inside the house.
The victim, Ashley Flynn, was found with at least one gunshot wound to the head. Police found two shell casings on the floor at the scene.
Police Suspect Accused Staged the Scene
According to preliminary investigation results, police believe Flynn attempted to stage the scene to appear as a botched home invasion and robbery, with the intention of concealing his crime.
Flynn is currently being held on a $2 million bond.

The case is still undergoing legal proceedings, and the court has not yet reached a final conclusion regarding the charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for later this month, where the court will review evidence and determine the next steps in the trial process.
