A horrific knife attack occurred in an upscale coastal residential area in Gig Harbor, Washington state, on Tuesday morning, leaving four people dead. The suspect, a 32-year-old man, was shot and killed by police at the scene after committing the crime.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, three victims died at the scene in a cul-de-sac area of the Key Peninsula community. The fourth victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to severe injuries.
Incident Details and Police Response
The incident began when police received a report of a no-contact order violation around 8:40 AM. However, this order was determined not to be officially legally effective as it had not been directly served to the suspect as per court regulations.
While deputies were en route to the relevant address to serve the order, they received an urgent report of an attack. The information indicated that a man was using a knife to attack multiple people just outside a house in the residential area.
When the first deputy arrived at the scene, the suspect was still holding a weapon and acting threateningly. To prevent further violence, the officer fired shots, killing the suspect at the scene; the relationship between the suspect and the victims has not yet been clarified.

The Pierce County Force Investigation Team is currently responsible for a comprehensive investigation of the incident. The crime scene remains strictly cordoned off to facilitate the identification of victims and collection of evidence.
