Franklin County: 10 Pounds of Methamphetamine Seized, Two Suspects Arrested
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office recently announced the seizure of approximately 10 pounds of methamphetamine following a routine traffic stop. Two suspects now face a series of serious criminal charges related to the incident in Franklin County, Georgia.
The suspects were identified as Grayson Brewer, a resident of Lavonia, and Charles Stowers, from Greenville, South Carolina. Both were arrested on the evening of February 24, after being pulled over before 8:30 p.m. for tailgating and failing to maintain their lane.
Upon approaching the vehicle, a deputy detected the smell of alcohol from the driver. During a thorough search, authorities discovered approximately 10 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, along with a digital money counter and a handgun inside the vehicle.
Both Brewer and Stowers are currently facing several serious charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), following too closely, failure to maintain lane, possession of an open container, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and trafficking methamphetamine. Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed in the future.
