A Georgia teenager sacrificed his life while attempting to save his younger sister in a serious accident in Florida, which claimed three lives.
The incident occurred in Franklin County as a group of young people were traveling to St. George Island for spring break. The Jeep lost control on Highway 65, veered off the road, and struck a line of trees.
Jackson Mobley, 18, was identified as having acted in his final moments to protect his sister, Jamison Mobley, similar to the efforts of the man who saved an 8-month-old baby in a previous emergency. She is the sole survivor but remains in critical condition.
The other two victims were identified as Jaylyn Fehr, 17, and Charlotte Martin, 16.
Jamison was airlifted to a hospital in Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, where she is receiving treatment in serious condition. Her family stated she faces a long recovery process, both physically and mentally, after losing her brother and close friends.
Information from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office described Jackson as a dedicated brother who dreamed of studying engineering and building his own career. His passing reminded many of the police officer who sacrificed his life while on duty on the highway.
The other two victims were remembered as excellent students who were active in sports and their community.
The local community organized a memorial for the victims, including many young people living in The Battery Atlanta area, while calling for support for the families during this difficult time.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
