GWINNETT COUNTY, GEORGIA – A Gwinnett County teenager has been arrested and charged with making terroristic threats, following a year-long investigation into harassment and violent threats originating from the online gaming platform Roblox.
According to a FOX 5 Atlanta report on February 20, 2026, the Gwinnett County Police Department launched an investigation on January 16, 2025, when a victim reported continuously receiving multiple threatening messages from an acquaintance via an app.
Victim's Address Publicized and Threatening Messages Sent
According to investigators, after the victim ceased communication, the teenager retaliated by publicly sharing her home address online — an act known as "doxxing" — while continuing to send threatening content across various social media and online gaming platforms.
During a digital data search, police stated that they discovered messages indicating the suspect had discussed murdering other women and was believed to have created a "target list."
Underwent Mental Health Evaluation Before Indictment
Police coordinated with the county's Behavioral Health Unit to identify and approach the teenager. The suspect admitted to sending the threatening messages and was initially taken to a local hospital for a psychological evaluation.
On January 27, the teenager was officially charged with terroristic threats and related offenses. The suspect was then transferred to a regional Juvenile Detention Center in Georgia.
Police Urge Parents to Increase Child Supervision
Following the incident, Gwinnett County police issued an appeal to parents regarding the importance of monitoring their children's online activities. Authorities advise:
- Do not allow children to share real names, home addresses, or school information on online platforms.
- Immediately block and report suspicious or threatening accounts.
- Notify gaming platforms and local law enforcement if any violent threats are discovered.
The case continues to be processed according to juvenile law in the state of Georgia.
