A man who once worked on the security team of Representative Jasmine Crockett (Texas) was shot dead by police following a standoff with SWAT forces in Dallas, Texas, while being pursued on an arrest warrant.

According to CBS News Texas, the man was identified as 39-year-old Diamon-Mazairre Robinson. Robinson had a criminal record spanning several years and was under federal investigation before the incident occurred.

Authorities said Robinson was being tracked by the Dallas Police Fugitive Unit on March 11. The pursuit led to a parking lot at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, where Robinson barricaded himself inside his vehicle.

After police used tear gas to force the suspect out, Robinson exited the vehicle and pointed a gun at law enforcement officers, a tense situation similar to other SWAT standoffs that have occurred in various locations. Police opened fire, and Robinson died at the scene.

According to investigative sources, Robinson used several aliases, including "Mike King," and posed as a law enforcement officer to gain access to organizations and communities in Texas.

Court documents show Robinson had multiple arrests from 2009 to 2012, including seven theft-related cases. He received sentences primarily consisting of fines and probation, with the heaviest sentence being 10 years of probation.

Sources said Robinson had claimed to some people that he was a detective with the U.S. Capitol Police, which led to a federal investigation into allegations of impersonating a law enforcement officer.

According to financial records, Robinson received a payment of $340 from Representative Jasmine Crockett's office for security services last year, during the Texas Senate primary election activities.

Officials said Robinson also operated a website called "Off Duty Police Services," which promoted jobs for police officers working part-time.

As of now, Representative Jasmine Crockett has not made a public comment regarding Robinson's death.
