Epstein Rented At Least Six Storage Units Across the US

Financial records and emails indicate Jeffrey Epstein rented at least six storage units across the United States, storing computers, CDs, photos, and other equipment — much of which may have never been disclosed.

According to The Telegraph, these units were rented starting in 2003 and payments were maintained until 2019 — the year Epstein died by suicide in jail. Stored items included equipment from his residences, such as computers and CDs from his private Caribbean island, Little Saint James.

Authorities May Have Never Searched the Units

Search warrants among the 3 million Epstein-related documents released by the US Department of Justice indicate that authorities may have never raided these storage units. It is possible that evidence not previously seen in the sex trafficking files could exist there.

Private Investigator Moved Documents Before Search Warrants

Emails show Epstein hired a private investigator to move documents from his home before search warrants were executed. Credit card statements reveal regular payments to various facilities, including one near his Palm Beach mansion.

Additional documents note that private investigators were instructed to rent a storage unit in Manhattan on Epstein's behalf and received tens of thousands of dollars in fees.

Emails Reveal Hidden Computers and Papers

In August 2009, a month after his release from prison for a minor sex crime, Epstein received an email from detective Bill Riley of Riley Kiraly firm. The content indicated that victim Virginia Giuffre requested the surrender of computers and papers removed from Epstein's home before a search warrant.

"I have them in storage and need to know how to deal with them. They are no longer needed for the criminal case, as I understand it. Can they be handed over for review or given to attorney Darren Indyke or returned to Jeff?"

The email also mentioned that hard drives in storage had been copied, but the fate of the copies is unclear.

Staff Discussed Deleting Data and Transporting Equipment

Other emails show Epstein requested computers be moved from his Florida home after receiving intelligence about a police raid in the mid-2000s. Staff discussed transporting computers and CDs from his private island to storage and deleting data.

While serving time in Palm Beach County jail in May 2009, Epstein sent an email inquiring about a photo stored in a unit. Riley replied that he would retrieve it on his next visit to the unit.

Storage Unit Near New York Mansion Contained Computers and Furniture

Epstein also rented an additional storage unit about a five-minute drive from his New York mansion. Accountant Richard Kahn noted in 2012 that the unit primarily contained furniture, along with "lots of surplus equipment" including computers and supplies.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation has not responded to inquiries about whether these storage units were ever searched.

The investigation continues.
