LEE COUNTY, Georgia – A 29-year-old teacher at Lee County High School has been arrested on charges of child molestation and inappropriate sexual contact with a student.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the suspect is Danielle Weaver, a resident of Leesburg. She was arrested on February 18 and is currently being held at the Lee County Jail.

Investigation Developments

The investigation began on February 3 when the Leesburg Police Department responded to information regarding inappropriate contact between a teacher and a student at Lee County High School.

The next day, police requested GBI assistance. Through a joint investigation, authorities identified Weaver as the suspect and the involved party as a minor student from the school.

An arrest warrant was issued on February 17 following the joint investigation by the GBI and Leesburg police.

Case Status

Officials stated that the case is still under investigation, and the file will be turned over to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for prosecution upon completion.
