A man carrying multiple weapons and wearing body armor was arrested after firing shots near the Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the suspect has been identified as Sean Steiner, 36, a resident of Glendale. He faces several weapons-related charges.

The incident occurred on Palos Verdes Drive South, near the Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles, after authorities received reports of an individual wearing rifle-rated body armor and carrying weapons along a trail.

Previously, Steiner was seen walking in the area wearing protective gear and carrying gloves, a large bag, a small stool, and a rifle.

The situation became critical when authorities spotted the individual running through active traffic lanes before he was eventually detained.

At the time of his arrest, Steiner was carrying:

  • A loaded short-barreled semi-automatic rifle
  • A loaded revolver
  • Two other pistols
  • Multiple high-capacity magazines and extra ammunition
  • Body armor

The rifle was painted green and purple, featuring phrases such as “Why so serious?” and “Let’s put a smile on that face,” styled after the Joker character.

Authorities stated that Steiner admitted to firing a gun in a nearby area before his arrest, claiming the act was to “release anger,” similar to the motive previously confessed by a shooting suspect at a club in New Hampshire.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities credited the timely public reports with preventing a potentially dangerous situation in a crowded area, avoiding incidents like past shootings at Los Angeles mansions.

The case is currently being processed in accordance with the law.
