DULUTH, Georgia — May 6, 2026
The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred at the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Duluth/Gwinnett Place hotel, resulting in the death of one man.
According to police information, on the night of May 5, officers were dispatched to the hotel on Venture Parkway in Duluth following reports of a shooting during a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, police discovered several people inside a hotel room, including the victim, 49-year-old Ephrim Forbes.
Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Medical Services examined the victim; however, Mr. Forbes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police stated that all parties involved remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators.
No arrests have been made at this time. Gwinnett Police stated that there are no suspects at large and the community is not in danger. The preliminary investigation indicates that the incident was personal and isolated.
