MAINEVILLE, Ohio — Police have arrested Jayson Hall, 40, after shots fired from private property sent stray bullets into a Kroger supermarket in Maineville, injuring two shoppers.

According to the Hamilton Township Police Department, Hall was firing a gun on his property when a bullet went off course, piercing the sliding glass doors in the lobby of the Kroger supermarket.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Two people in the lobby area were struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital. Medical staff confirmed the injuries are non-life-threatening.

Police discovered a bullet hole in the supermarket's glass door during the scene investigation. Authorities stated the shooting was accidental rather than an intentional attack.

Law enforcement arrested Hall shortly after the incident. The event caused the Kroger supermarket to temporarily close, and several surrounding roads were cordoned off to facilitate evidence collection.

The charges filed against him include:
  • 2 counts of felonious assault
  • 2 counts of negligent assault
  • 1 count of inducing panic
  • 1 count of improper discharge of a firearm
Hall is currently being held at the Warren County Jail while the investigation continues.
