Tussey underwent the surgery on February 25, 2026, after sharing her preparation process on TikTok for some time with positive messages for her community. In a video posted hours before the surgery, Tussey said she trusted her medical team and hoped the surgery would bring a positive change to her life.
According to her husband, Jeremy Tussey, the surgery initially went well. However, her health condition quickly deteriorated afterward.
Tussey became unresponsive after being administered pain medication at the surgical facility, according to her husband's social media posts.
Medical staff used Narcan, a medication that reverses the effects of opioids, but her condition did not improve. Tussey was transferred to Bethesda North Hospital and placed on life support under the care of medical personnel.
Jeremy Tussey stated that his wife was deprived of oxygen for more than six minutes before doctors confirmed brain death. The family subsequently made the decision to remove life support.
A GoFundMe page set up by the family stated that Tussey was well-known in the online community as a family-oriented mother who frequently shared her positive life with followers.
The exact cause of the complications following the cosmetic surgery continues to be investigated.
