March 26, 2026 (New York time) — Organizers of the “No Kings” movement have announced that over 3,000 peaceful protests will take place across the United States this weekend, marking the next phase of large-scale mobilization. Minnesota is expected to be the focal point, with the largest event set to take place at the State Capitol in St. Paul. The list of speakers and artists includes:
  • Bernie Sanders
  • Joan Baez
  • Jane Fonda
  • Bruce Springsteen
  • Maggie Rogers
While organizers have not released specific attendance projections, they expect the scale to exceed previous demonstrations:
  • Approximately 5 million participants in June
  • Approximately 7 million participants in October
Protests are planned for major cities such as Chicago, New Orleans, and Charlotte, while also spreading to rural areas and conservative-leaning states like Florida, Kansas, and Pennsylvania. This wave comes shortly after a series of protesters were prosecuted at several major universities following events last week. American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten stated that the U.S. is at a “turning point” as many communities face economic hardship and cost-of-living pressures—a topic that politician Cornel West has also frequently criticized recently. The “No Kings” movement continues to expand its influence as Ilhan Omar denounces arrests made for political dissent, further intensifying political and social debates in the U.S.
