A massive fire caused a complete roof collapse and destroyed about half of a home in Powder Springs on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred at a residence located at the corner of Flowering Branch and Lilac Springs Drive.

Images from SKYFOX 5 recorded before 3:30 p.m. showed the fire had been contained, but significant damage had already occurred, including the collapsed roof.

Firefighters arrived and tackled the blaze, but the house's structure could not be saved as the fire spread rapidly, resulting in heavy damage similar to the Peyton Road house fire in Southwest Atlanta.

◼️ Unknown details

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.

There is no information on whether anyone was inside the home when the fire broke out, similar to the case where a family of four escaped after a fire in Stone Mountain.

Casualty status has also not been released, unlike the major Cobb County apartment fire that caused multiple casualties earlier.

Authorities have not confirmed the number of people affected or any assistance from relief organizations.
