March 31, 2026 (New York time) – Two teenagers were injured in a shooting that erupted during a crowded party at a unique home built from a Boeing 727 airplane in a wooded area near Hillsboro.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around midnight Sunday when more than 200 teenagers gathered, drinking alcohol and partying at the location.

Both victims were under 18 years old, and their conditions are not life-threatening. Police have not confirmed whether they were the intended targets of the attack.

Authorities detained two teenagers, ages 16 and 17, for investigation.

The home where the incident occurred is a converted retired Boeing 727, owned by retired engineer Bruce Campbell. The homeowner was not in the United States at the time of the incident.

Campbell said he often lent the location for events, sometimes free of charge or for donations, with clear rules:

No alcohol No weapons

He called the incident a “huge shock” and completely contrary to the original purpose of the space.

The airplane was purchased in 1999 and converted into a residence starting in 2004. It had become a well-known attraction in the Oregon area. However, nearby residents said that recently the location had frequently hosted large parties causing disturbances.

Police said they had received multiple calls regarding large gatherings at the location before the shooting occurred.

The case continues to be investigated to determine the cause and responsibility of the parties involved.
