PHOENIX, Arizona – A shooting occurred in South Phoenix on Monday night, leaving one man dead and a police officer injured.
Authorities quickly arrived at the area of 15th Avenue and Atlanta Avenue after receiving reports of a man using a gun to threaten his daughters. During a struggle with police, the man fell, causing the gun to discharge.
The gunshot killed the man at the scene and caused minor injuries to a police officer after a bullet grazed them. The officer was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
