18-Year-Old Senior Shot Dead in Parking Lot

A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old Baker High School senior in Baton Rouge.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Timothy Thomas Jr., 17, was arrested Friday in the investigation into the death of Edwyn Williams, 18.

The incident occurred around 6 AM on February 12 at The Reserve at Howell Place apartment complex on Plank Road. Police arrived at the scene and found Williams shot inside a vehicle in the complex's parking lot.

17-Year-Old Suspect Turns Himself In, Charged with Second-Degree Murder

Thomas turned himself in to homicide detectives on Friday. He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.

Police stated that Thomas has a criminal history, including fleeing from officers, resisting law enforcement, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
