In a message posted on the social network Truth Social, President Trump announced that he had "very good" phone calls with many Middle Eastern and Islamic leaders. These calls included Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, along with leaders from Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain.

The US leader stated that an agreement has now been largely negotiated, although the final details are still being discussed. He affirmed that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will be a crucial part of this agreement. President Trump also confirmed a separate call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but did not release further details.

These statements come amidst numerous signals indicating that Washington and Tehran are moving closer to a de-escalation framework. This follows months of military confrontation and regional tensions. Pakistan has emerged as an important intermediary in contacts between the two nations.

On the same day, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that Tehran would act "with utmost caution" in negotiations with the US to protect national interests. Speaking during a meeting with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir in Tehran, President Pezeshkian suggested that previous instances of US non-compliance with commitments had eroded public trust in Iran. However, he emphasized that war brings no benefit to any party and only increases regional instability.
