In Louisiana, authorities confirmed the arrest of thirty-six-year-old Phuc Pham and thirty-four-year-old Tran Pham in connection with Medicaid fraud totaling approximately one hundred and thirty-five thousand dollars.
According to investigation records, between March 2022 and August 2025, the pair provided inaccurate information regarding their marital status and actual household income. This misreporting led to the receipt of unauthorized benefits from the Medicaid program, an incident reminiscent of large-scale Medicaid fraud schemes discovered previously.
Attorney General Liz Murrill stated that Medicaid fraud is equivalent to stealing state taxpayers' money and emphasized that cases of falsifying information for profit will face serious legal consequences. Recently, authorities have also expanded Medicaid program investigations in several other states to tighten the management of healthcare budgets.
The two were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for processing, similar to a recent arrest of a suspect in Louisiana involving property theft. Information regarding bail amounts has not been released.
Authorities have not yet disclosed details about their residency status or further legal steps. However, the discovery of another fraudster within the social welfare system demonstrates the government's commitment to eradicating financial misconduct.
