Million-Dollar Mansion Squatting Case in Bethesda

A 40-year-old Maryland woman, Tameika Goode, is facing serious legal charges after allegedly illegally squatting in a $2.3 million mansion in a Washington, D.C. suburb. Despite portraying herself as a wealthy "financial advisor" on social media, bankruptcy filings show her actual income is only about $946 per month from government benefits and child support.

On online platforms, Goode frequently posted images of a lavish lifestyle, featuring a Porsche and a 7,500-square-foot home in Bethesda. She even advertised courses on bankruptcy procedures for $800 per student. However, the stark contrast between this glamorous image and her actual financial situation raised suspicions among many local residents.

Ian Chen, a 19-year-old neighbor, said residents started taking notice when the Goode family moved into the bank-foreclosed home in the summer of 2025. According to Chen's observations, the family had no stable jobs, and Goode's 16-year-old daughter had to work at a bakery instead of attending school. Many residents reported the situation to child protective services but did not receive a timely response.

Arrests and Legal Troubles

In late January, Goode was sentenced to 90 days in jail for trespassing but was released early after only two weeks. However, immediately after her release, she returned to the mansion on February 2nd. This action led to her second arrest on February 10th when police found her moving belongings back into the house with a U-Haul truck.

Currently, Goode is out on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 30th. To prevent further re-occupation, authorities have boarded up the windows and changed all the locks of the mansion. The incident has drawn significant community attention to the issue of illegal property squatting in the area.

Not only Goode, but her husband, Corey Pollard, is also entangled in legal troubles with charges related to car theft in Pennsylvania. Pollard is currently detained in Lancaster County with bail set at $500,000 after multiple legal violations. The continuous scandals involving this family have stirred public opinion in the Bethesda area over the past period.
