A woman was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the neck at a residence in southwest Atlanta early Friday morning, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Police responded to a call at the 4300 block of Greenleaf Circle SW around 6:00 a.m. At the scene, another person assisted the victim before an ambulance transported her to Grady Memorial Hospital. The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing when she left the scene.
Preliminary investigation suggests a suspect fired 15 to 20 shots into the home. Atlanta police are working to identify the individual involved.
The incident remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released information regarding a suspect or motive.
