A serious collision between a truck and a 5-seater car on the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway killed a mother and child, and left the male driver in critical condition. The accident occurred near noon on March 14 in the Phuoc Ha commune area.

At approximately 12:00 PM, Nguyen Van Ven (31 years old) was driving a truck with a Ho Chi Minh City license plate northward on the expressway. Upon reaching Phuoc Ha commune, the truck collided with a 5-seater car stopped in the outer lane of the expressway.

The force of the impact caused severe damage to both vehicles. The car was significantly deformed.

Three people in the car were rushed to Ninh Thuan General Hospital, located over 15 km from the scene. However, the woman and her young child succumbed to their severe injuries. The 39-year-old man—the car's driver—remains in critical condition. The truck driver sustained minor scratches.

The accident caused local traffic congestion on the expressway while authorities cleared the scene. Traffic police and the road management unit arrived quickly to direct traffic and conduct an investigation.

The cause of the incident is under ongoing investigation by the authorities.
