According to regional security sources, the attack occurred amid escalating military tensions between Iran and the U.S. and Israel. Several missiles were launched toward Qatar, with at least one landing within the Al Udeid base area, which houses a critical U.S. air operations center in the Gulf region.
Qatari officials and military sources stated that defense systems intercepted some of the missiles; however, one still managed to hit the base. Early reports confirm no casualties among U.S. service members, similar to the previous Iranian missile strike on the Juffair area.
Al Udeid Air Base, located near the Qatari capital of Doha, serves as the forward headquarters for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and is the coordination hub for numerous U.S. military operations in the Middle East.
The attack comes as Iran intensifies its retaliatory strikes following recent U.S. and Israeli airstrikes targeting sites inside Iran.
U.S. and Qatari officials are currently assessing the extent of the damage and monitoring for the possibility of further attacks.
