WASHINGTON — President Trump dismissed warnings from a senior Iranian security official regarding U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran.

In an interview with CBS News on March 8, 2026, President Trump stated he was unconcerned by statements from Ali Larijani, an influential figure in Iran's national security system, especially as the Secret Service bolstered security for President Trump in response to the threats.

Larijani had previously warned that President Trump would “pay a price” for the expansion of U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran during the ongoing military campaign.

President Trump said he did not know the Iranian official well and did not consider the threat to be a cause for concern.

He said:
“I don't know what he said, and I don't know who he is. I don't care.”

President Trump's remarks come as the U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran continues to expand, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian commanders at military facilities and strategic infrastructure in Tehran.

The Trump administration has repeatedly stated that the campaign's goal is to weaken Iran's military capabilities and prevent Tehran from developing missile systems capable of reaching U.S. territory.

Tensions between the two sides have escalated following attacks in the Middle East and retaliatory drone strikes.
